Lee Mvtthews, the New Zealand drum and bass duo comprising Graham Matthews and Tom Lee, have been pivotal in shaping the country's electronic music landscape since their formation in 2013. Their debut album, Bones, released in 2019, achieved Gold certification, with the standout single Takeover featuring Nü reaching Triple Platinum status. This track amassed over 17.5 million Spotify streams and remained in New Zealand's Top 40 Singles chart for more than two years. Their subsequent album, Exit, released on 1st March 2024, debuted at number 7 on the New Zealand Top 40 Album Charts, featuring collaborations with artists like Degs, Phantom, Tiki Taane, Ella Monnery, and Amila.
Renowned for their dynamic live performances, Lee Mvtthews have graced major festivals including Rhythm & Vines, Electric Avenue, Northern Bass, and Homegrown. Their international presence expanded with tours across Australia, Europe, and the USA, performing at iconic venues such as Bootshaus in Cologne and the Let It Roll Festival in the Czech Republic.
Accolades for the duo include winning 'Best Electronic Artist' at the 2020 Aotearoa Music Awards and placing third in the 'Best Newcomer' category at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards in 2021, marking a significant achievement as the first act outside of Europe to excel in this category. With over 60 million streams across platforms and releases on esteemed labels like UKF, Viper Recordings, DeVice, Elevate, AEI, and Dark Machine Records, Lee Mvtthews continue to solidify their status as leading figures in the global drum and bass scene.
