Full Cycle Records

Full Cycle Records is a seminal drum and bass label founded in 1993 in Bristol by Roni Size, DJ Krust, DJ Die, and Suv. Originally emerging as a sub-label of V Recordings, it quickly developed its own identity, becoming a vital outlet for the new wave of jungle and drum and bass emerging from the UK underground in the mid-1990s.

The label’s output helped define the sound of Bristol, blending rich basslines, dubwise influences, and jazz-inflected rhythms with razor-sharp production. Releases like Warhead by DJ Krust, It’s Jazzy by Roni Size, and the many instalments of the Music Box series established Full Cycle as a powerhouse of creative innovation. It played a central role in the rise of Roni Size/Reprazent, whose New Forms won the Mercury Prize in 1997 and brought drum and bass to mainstream recognition.

Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Full Cycle Records served as a launchpad for a generation of producers, many of whom became household names within the genre. The label became known for its deep consistency, quality control, and commitment to pushing the boundaries of what drum and bass could sound like. It operated in close synergy with its sister labels Dope Dragon and Valve Recordings, forming a Bristol-based ecosystem that was influential across the UK and beyond.

After a period of dormancy, Full Cycle was relaunched in 2016 with a renewed focus on both heritage and progression. The revival was marked by a series of live events and new releases, including material from the founding artists and emerging talent. Still proudly independent, Full Cycle continues to champion the future of drum and bass while honouring its legacy as one of the genre’s most important institutions.
