Lizplay Records
Founded by Spanish DJ and producer Tony Lizana, Lizplay Records has become a distinctive presence within the European drum and bass landscape. Based in Loja, Granada, the label began as a platform for Lizana’s own creative output but soon evolved into a wider project dedicated to supporting emerging electronic talent from across the continent.
Operating under the broader Lizplay Group umbrella, which also includes Samay Records (focused on Breakbeat) and Artema Recordings (covering Tech House, Minimal and Deep House), the label has built a catalogue defined by energy, versatility and a strong sense of identity. Whether delivering heavyweight rollers, breakbeat hybrids or soulful vocal-led cuts, Lizplay’s output reflects the depth and diversity of contemporary underground music in Spain and beyond.
Driven by Tony Lizana’s passion for DJing and production - with over 1,000 live sets performed across Europe - the label remains rooted in the DIY ethos of independent club culture. Releases such as Feel Vibes and Need To Survive showcase a rhythmic sensibility that fuses UK bass with European musicality, while guest contributions from like-minded producers continue to expand the label’s sonic palette.
Lizplay Records is equally committed to community and curation. Through an active SoundCloud presence and an open-door policy for demo submissions, the label nurtures new artists and provides a springboard for underrepresented voices within the scene. Its connections to sister imprints ensure flexibility across genres, giving artists the space to explore beyond drum and bass alone.
Although still young in comparison to long-standing UK institutions, Lizplay has carved out a unique role as a Spanish-led label operating with global intent. It blends local identity with international sensibilities, offering a clear alternative to the London-centric narrative that has long dominated the genre.
With an ever-growing catalogue and a founder devoted to evolving both sonically and professionally, Lizplay Records continues to push boundaries — championing independence, musicality and community in equal measure.
