Woodysworld Records (WWR) is an independent label founded in New Zealand by MC Woody, also known as producer XNX. Built on an artist-first ethos, the label rejects traditional gatekeeping in favour of collaboration, equity and community ownership. WWR serves as both a creative hub and a platform for emerging talent across drum & bass, hip hop and experimental bass music.
At the heart of the imprint is the Woodyverse—a comic-inspired narrative world where aliases and collectives take on character roles, turning releases into episodes and remixes into lore. The flagship project, Battle of the Planets (BOTP), brings together a rotating cast of producers and MCs under coded aliases, merging music with myth in a way that feels both grassroots and futuristic.
Alongside its conceptual vision, Woodysworld Records champions technical excellence. Each release is mastered in-house under Woody’s supervision, ensuring high fidelity for clubs, festivals and streaming. Through mentoring, remix contests and an active Discord community, the label has quickly grown into a trusted incubator for new voices.
