Vauxhall’s Lightbox will be opening its doors to a brand new night this Friday (March 24). Merge promises to bring together the crème de la crème of the deeper and darker realms of the drum and bass spectrum. Founded by the labels TrES-2b, headed by Benny L, Trust Audio headed by Trex, and SINE Audio headed by Apey.  

The concept was born from the three labels merging together to create a sum greater than its parts. Joining their influence, talents and resources together means that three labels can offer their fans the very best event. Merge will partner with a different label or brand for each event in the future, delving further into the far reaching soundscape that make up the genre. This first event’s mammoth line-up goes a long way to showing us what we can expect from these events. As well as the curators, spinning the tracks on the night will be Sweetpea, T>I, Napes and a very, very long list of artists across two rooms.  

I’ve wanted to get TrES-2b involved in a night for ages and after our debut label night in Brighton I was keen to do more. The opportunity to work with Trex, Trimer and SINE at Lightbox on a collaboration night was a no brainer. The name Merge gives us scope to bring a lot more brands and friends from the scene to collaborate on future events. The lineup for the first one reflects what we are about.- Benny L
