DJ Die & DJ Krust B2B with Inja Announced for Mucky Weekender 2025

The Mucky Weekender Festival has just raised the stakes for 2025. Confirmed for Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 September, the boutique festival in the Hampshire countryside has officially added DJ Die and Krust to the bill, performing back-to-back with the powerhouse MC Inja.

Fans of Bristol’s rich drum and bass heritage will know exactly what this means. Die and Krust are not just respected veterans; they are foundational figures. Together they co-founded Full Cycle, the influential label that helped shape the sound of 1990s jungle and early drum and bass. As part of Reprazent, they played a key role in taking the genre to a wider audience, contributing to the Mercury Prize-winning album New Forms.

Now, after decades of individual and collaborative innovation, the pair are reuniting for a special festival set, joined by Inja, whose razor-sharp lyricism and commanding stage presence have earned him a reputation as one of the most engaging MCs in the scene today.

This is not a throwback. It is a statement of intent from three artists who continue to define and drive the culture forward.

Riot Noise Stage Delivers a Heavyweight Opening Night

Their appearance will be part of Thursday’s massive opening party, taking over the new Riot Noise main stage. Built from a fully customised seven-and-a-half-tonne truck, this mobile DJ booth is designed to bring the sound system directly to the crowd.

Sharing the stage with Die, Krust and Inja are several key names from across the spectrum of underground music, including:

  • David Rodigan, the reggae and dub legend with a long-standing connection to jungle culture

  • Leftfield, bringing their genre-blending sound in a rare DJ set

  • Phil Hartnoll of Orbital, representing one of the most iconic names in UK rave history

  • Norman Jay MBE, whose selections have shaped decades of dance culture

  • Jaguar Skills, DJ Yoda, The Allergies, Don Letts, Gardna, Eva Lazarus and more

This is just the beginning. The full festival continues through Friday and Saturday, with an extensive mix of live acts and DJs, crossing genres while staying rooted in sound system culture.

Mucky Weekender: Where the Roots Still Matter

Founded by The Dub Pistols’ Barry Ashworth, Mucky Weekender has carved out a reputation as one of the UK’s most authentic and community-driven music festivals. While its size remains intimate, the energy is anything but small.

The festival is known for its eclectic bookings, hidden stages, attention to detail and, above all, its atmosphere. There is a genuine love for the music and a deep respect for the culture it celebrates.

This year’s inclusion of DJ Die, DJ Krust and MC Inja feels significant. It is a reminder that drum and bass was born from sound system tradition, sharpened in clubs, and carried forward by artists who have never stopped innovating. The fact that they are performing together on a truck-stage in a field packed with heads says everything about the enduring power of this music.

Whether you are a long-time junglist or someone new to the sound, this will be one of the defining sets of the summer.
