Following the release of his most recent single, the jungle inspired ‘Tremendous Vibes / All Crew‘, Taxman has announced that he is parting ways with the legendary Playaz label.

Having been with the imprint for 17 years, Taxman has been one of longest serving artists under the Playaz umbrella of labels which encompasses Frontline, Ganja Records, Ganja-Tek, and Liq-Weed Ganja Recordings. Some of Taxman’s notable releases over the years include tracks such as Scan Darker, Too Bad, Original Ninja, Harry’s Revenge, Cool It Judy, Creepshow, Inside The Ride, plus a slew of collaborations with his brother Original Sin.

Taxman posted an image of fellow Playaz alumni along with the following statement via his social media pages;

This is not easy for me to write, but after 17 years, 4 or 5 contracts and 100 or so recordings, my latest contract with Playaz has come to an end, and at this point in my career I have decided to now go my own way.

My first track on Playaz released in 2005, and I have worked with Hype and Pascal at Playaz ever since. It has been an amazing journey, but now is the time in my career to go my own way.

I will be setting up my own label and also working with other artists and labels from here on.

Massive shouts to Pascal for putting up with my endless “final mix” swaps just before uploads over recent years, and thanks to Hype for all the advice over the years, for all the memories along the way, the Playaz nights at Fabric back in the day, and all the long phonecalls talking about music and life.

Looking forward to what the future holds

We wish him all the best in the next step of his musical journey & with his forthcoming label. Hopefully he continues to pump out music as good as this final release on Playaz…
