John B returns in full cinematic force with "Das Boot," a high-impact Drum & Bass rework of Klaus Doldinger’s legendary theme from the 1981 submarine thriller. Dropping May 15th on Beta Recordings, the single marks another inspired step in John’s recent creative resurgence — fusing his lifelong love for '80s synths and soundtracks with precision-engineered DNB for 2025 dancefloors.

Unlike many modern tributes, "Das Boot" doesn’t rely on nostalgia alone. Every synth line, every robotic voice, every melodic motif has been meticulously replayed and produced using vintage-style gear — from Emulator II-inspired strings to Atari-era speech synthesis. The result is more than a remix; it’s a full-bodied reimagining that balances respect for the source with contemporary firepower. Pinned by punchy two-step drums and razor-edged staccato basslines, this is widescreen Drum & Bass at its most immersive.

Coming hot off the heels of his Metalheadz singles "Hypnotize" and "Ventil-8," and supported by the creative momentum of his Wyld Dogz and Whispered Light side projects, "Das Boot" finds John B confidently straddling the line between reverent homage and forward-thinking innovation.

With this release, John B reminds us why he's still one of the genre’s most distinctive voices: a producer unafraid to dive deep — into history, into hardware, and into the heart of what makes DNB timeless.
