Kublai returns to CIA with the Feel Me EP, a release that leans heavily into jungle energy while keeping one foot in soulful territory. The young Manchester–based producer has been steadily refining his sound, and this latest collection shows just how far he has come.
Title track Feel Me rolls out with weighty bass, sharp breakwork and an undercurrent of musical warmth. Who Fi Dead, featuring the commanding vocals of Rider Shafique, pushes further into sound system territory with deep dub influences and a floor–shaking low end. Closing the set is Note’s liquid reimagining of Young Soul, the only non–jungly moment here, offering a smooth, melodic counterpoint to the rest of the EP while paying homage to Kublai’s earlier CIA work.
Jungle, Motown and dub all leave their mark, but it is Kublai’s versatility and attention to detail that hold the release together. Feel Me EP is a confident return to a label that knows how to back genuine talent.
