Low:r celebrates ten years in drum & bass with a smooth return to Soulvent Records. It marks his first appearance on the label since 2021’s Pixel / Well. In the meantime, Ben Downton has released music with Galacy, Liquicity, progRAM and Spearhead Records, keeping his name firmly in rotation across the liquid scene.

Hedonism begins with delicate arpeggios, tight percussion and a filtered drum groove that sets an inviting tone. A chopped female vocal hints at the euphoria to come. When the drop lands, the synthwork is crisp, basslines inventive, and the drums perfectly balanced. It’s polished but never sterile, danceable yet full of emotional weight.

The breakdown offers a moment of calm before the second drop deepens the bass and brightens the melody. There’s plenty for DJs to enjoy, but it also rewards home listening. The production quality is unmistakable, every layer sitting just where it should.

Landing on 9 January 2026, Hedonism is a fitting opener to the year and another solid addition to Low:r’s growing discography. Soulvent continue to prove that quality and subtlety can still drive a label forward.
