AceMoMA is a dynamic electronic music duo from New York City, comprising Adrian Mojica, known as AceMo, and Wyatt Stevens, who performs as MoMA Ready. Since their formation in 2017, they have been at the forefront of the underground dance music scene, seamlessly blending genres such as house, techno, jungle, and drum and bass. Their innovative approach pays homage to the rich history of Black electronic music while pushing the boundaries of contemporary sound.
Their debut self-titled EP, AceMoMA, released in 2019, marked the beginning of their collaborative journey. This project showcased their ability to fuse the raw energy of classic Chicago house and Detroit techno with modern electronic elements, creating a distinctive sound that resonated with a wide audience. Following this, they released their first full-length album, A New Dawn, in 2020, further solidifying their reputation as pioneers in the electronic music landscape.
Both artists bring a wealth of individual experience to the duo. AceMo, with a background in jazz trumpet and youth ensembles, and MoMA Ready, influenced by gospel music and a passion for breakdancing and drumming, contribute to their unique sound. Their music reflects a deep understanding of rhythm and melody, resulting in tracks that are both innovative and deeply rooted in the traditions of electronic music.
