Alex Physalis is a Belarus-based sound designer and producer working across drum and bass, Neurobreaks, and alternative electronic music. With nearly two decades of experience in sound design, he first emerged under the alias Dread, building a reputation through sample pack releases and production work focused on heavier, darker strands of electronic music.
Now operating under his own name, Physalis is affiliated with established labels including Renegade Hardware and In Beat We Trust Music. His music is characterised by sharply engineered basslines, detailed drum programming, and immersive atmospheres, reflecting a precise and technically driven approach to production. Alongside his releases, he continues to develop the Neurobreaks sound, a hybrid space between breakbeat energy and drum and bass weight.
Beyond his own catalogue, Physalis works extensively in sound design. He has collaborated with Big Fish Audio on commercial sample packs, including Quantum Breaks, and has independently released Art of Neurobreaks under his own imprint. He also relaunched High Tree Records as a platform for his evolving output.
Focused on dark, intricate structures and forward-facing sound architecture, Alex Physalis continues to refine a body of work that bridges production craft, genre development, and detailed sonic experimentation.
