Disaszt, born Daniel Fürst-Zoffel, is a renowned drum and bass producer and DJ from Vienna, Austria. Starting his journey in 1998 as part of the Bass Infection Crew, Disaszt quickly gained recognition across Austria for his contributions to the drum and bass scene. By 2001, he had ventured into music production, with his track Get It On featured on the compilation Inside Aut, highlighting the burgeoning Austrian drum and bass movement.
In 2002, Disaszt founded the Mainframe event series at Vienna's WUK Club. Its popularity grew rapidly, leading to its relocation to the larger Arena venue, where it attracted up to 2,000 attendees. His commitment to Vienna’s nightlife also led to the creation of The Zoo, a venue dedicated to urban culture and music, solidifying his role as a key figure in the city’s music landscape.
As a producer, Disaszt has released music on respected labels such as RAM Records, Viper Recordings, and V Recordings. Tracks like Ribcage on Technique Recordings and collaborations such as Rumours with Shimon and Coppa showcase his versatility and mastery of the genre. These releases have further cemented his reputation as a pioneering artist in drum and bass.
Disaszt is also the founder of Mainframe Recordings, a label credited with discovering and nurturing talents like Camo & Krooked, The Prototypes, and Dossa & Locuzzed. His dynamic DJ sets have taken him to prestigious events worldwide, including Sun and Bass in Italy and Let It Roll in Prague. With a career spanning decades, Disaszt continues to be a driving force in the evolution of drum and bass music.
