Distorted Minds, now known as D*Minds, are a British drum and bass duo from Bristol, comprising Alistair Vickery and Jon Midwinter. Emerging in the late 1990s, they quickly became prominent figures in the drum and bass scene, renowned for their energetic and innovative productions.
In 2003, they released the track T-10, which gained significant acclaim and remains a staple in drum and bass sets. Another notable release is Mr Happy, a collaboration with DJ Hazard in 2007, celebrated for its infectious hook and enduring popularity on dancefloors.
Beyond their production work, D*Minds have made substantial contributions to the live music scene. They founded the RUN event series in Bristol, inspired by Metalheadz's iconic Blue Note sessions. RUN has evolved into one of the city's most esteemed drum and bass events, known for its vibrant atmosphere and showcasing both established and emerging talents.
D*Minds also established the label D-Style Recordings, providing a platform for artists such as TC, S.P.Y, and DJ Hazard. Their commitment to nurturing talent and pushing the boundaries of the genre has solidified their status as influential figures within the drum and bass community.
Their dynamic DJ sets and innovative productions continue to captivate audiences worldwide, ensuring their legacy within the ever-evolving drum and bass landscape.
