Dope Skillz is one of the aliases of Benjamin Pettit, better known as DJ Zinc, a legendary figure in the drum and bass scene. Based in London, England, DJ Zinc has been active since the early 1990s, carving out a reputation as one of the genre’s most innovative and versatile producers. The Dope Skillz moniker allowed him to explore unique elements of jungle and drum and bass, contributing to his lasting influence in electronic music.
Under the Dope Skillz name, DJ Zinc released several iconic tracks that remain celebrated within the drum and bass community. Among them, the 1995 release 6 Million Ways / Yo' Son on Frontline Records showcased his knack for seamlessly blending hip hop influences with jungle rhythms. Another standout release under the alias was No Diggidy in 1997 on True Playaz Records.
