Ikon-B, born Ben Bromley, is a prominent Jungle and Drum & Bass producer and DJ from West London. He began his DJing career in the early 1990s, performing on numerous pirate radio stations such as Bashment FM, Kool FM, Don FM, Flex FM, Dream FM, Drum and Bass Worldwide FM, and Life FM. Around 1996, Ikon-B acquired an Akai sampler, mixing desk, and various keyboards, teaching himself music production. He soon started cutting dubplates at Music House in London.
Throughout his career, Ikon-B has been associated with several notable record labels, including Skeleton Records, KLP Records, Deep in the Jungle Records, Yardrock RIQ, Ghetto Dub, Flex Records, Ninja Cuts, Locked Up Music, Nuusic, Midway Productions, HumDruma Recordings, and High Energy Records. His discography features tracks like New World, Our Generation (with Emcee Tell), and the Teleport EP.
In addition to his production work, Ikon-B founded his own label, Format Music DNB, showcasing tracks from artists such as Kumarachi, Section, RMS, Vytol, SR, Vinyl Junkie, Dapz, Lion UK, Consumer, Crisis, Xeropoint Paradigm, Sound Shifter, A-Man, Flashback, Twiz, Leks, Emcee Tell, Midway, and Opuis. His commitment to the Jungle and Drum & Bass scene is evident through his consistent output and support for emerging talent.
