Mandidextrous is a British DJ and producer celebrated for pioneering the high-octane sound of 'speed bass'—a boundary-pushing fusion of drum and bass, techno, and bassline. With roots in the UK's underground rave scene, their music channels the raw energy of free party culture into something explosively modern and defiantly unique.
Their journey began in the late 1990s, immersed in the hard-edged sounds of jungle and techno at free parties across the south of England. As a producer, Mandidextrous carved out their early reputation with the creation of 'jungletek', a frenetic blend of jungle rhythms and pounding techno. This laid the foundation for their evolution into speed bass, an ultra-fast, genre-hopping style that has since captivated clubs and festival stages worldwide.
In 2020, they joined RAM Records as part of the EQ50 mentorship programme, a pivotal moment that led to breakthrough releases like Techno On My Mind and Trust The Lasers. Their high-energy sets have lit up major festivals including Let It Roll, Boomtown, and Hospitality on the Beach, cementing their place as a fearless live performer.
As a transgender artist, Mandidextrous is also a powerful advocate for visibility and inclusion within the drum and bass and wider electronic music scenes. Through both their music and message, they continue to challenge norms and uplift marginalised voices—proving that the rave is for everyone, and the future of bass music is unapologetically bold.
