It is a subsidiary of Neosignal Recordings, run by the renowned electronic music duo Neosignal, comprising Florian Harres (Phace) and Michael Braeuninger (Misanthrop). Nëu Music was created as an outlet for the music that the pair felt didn't fit into the sonic philosophies of their primary project, Neosignal, or for projects where they preferred a more experimental approach.
Over the years, Nëu Music has proven to be fertile ground for innovation in drum and bass, consistently pushing the boundaries of the genre. The label has nurtaaaaaaains of up-and-coming artists like The Caracal Project, Kimyan Law, and Synergy, among others. Major releases include the groundbreaking “Big Data EP” from Synergy and The Caracal Project’s critically acclaimed “Go Get Some / Botfonk”.
Known for promoting technoid and neuro-style drum and bass, Nëu Music’s releases regularly garner critical praise and playtime on the dance floor. Despite not winning any awards, the release of the music through the label provides a clear and precise direction for music producers in their path to creating cutting-edge drum and bass music. The label contributes significantly to the evolution of the genre, striking an impressive balance between commercial appeal and underground credibility.
