Built around rolling drums, rich musicality and FJ's effortlessly expressive vocal, it's a track that settles into its groove from the outset and never feels the need to overcomplicate things.
Skuff keeps the arrangement clean and spacious, allowing each element to breathe as warm pads, understated melodies and a rounded bassline move naturally beneath the vocal. The drums provide a steady pulse throughout, giving the track enough energy for the dancefloor while retaining the laid-back character that makes liquid drum & bass so enduring. It's equally suited to a sunny daytime soundtrack as it is those deeper moments in a late-night set.
Alongside the brighter, feel-good tones of You Make Me Happy, Oceans offers a more reflective counterpart, giving the release a satisfying sense of balance.
