Insomniax is a British drum and bass duo comprising Renzo (Damien Fellows) and Freshold (Oliver Millin). Hailing from the South West of the UK, both artists have been immersed in the scene since the early 1990s rave era, channelling decades of passion and experience into their music. Their collaborative project, Insomniax, emerged as a platform to fuse their shared love of intricate drum and bass production with forward-thinking sound design.

In 2014, Insomniax made their mark on the scene with their debut on Viper Recordings’ Headroom EP series, featuring the standout track Digital Murder. This was followed by contributions to Viper’s Drum & Bass Summer Slammers 2014 album, with tracks like Can’t Resist and Over Again VIP, showcasing their melodic yet heavy-hitting style. Collaborations with fellow labelmates, including Six Blade on Contact, further solidified their reputation for delivering high-energy, anthemic productions.

The duo has consistently demonstrated versatility and innovation in their work. Their release Uridium / Longest Night on Viper VIP achieved commercial success, with Uridium climbing to number 4 on the Beatport Drum & Bass chart. Tracks like Lunar Dub and Gravitron highlight their ability to blend nostalgic influences with modern production techniques, striking a balance between dancefloor appeal and technical mastery.

Known for their storytelling approach to production, Insomniax continues to push the boundaries of the genre with tracks like Foghorn, which blend cinematic soundscapes with driving basslines.
