Muffler

Muffler, born Konsta Mikkonen in Kajaani, Finland, is a distinguished drum and bass producer and DJ renowned for his dynamic contributions to the genre. Beginning his musical journey at the age of nine, Mikkonen initially explored house music before discovering jungle and drum and bass in 1994. This revelation led him to focus exclusively on drum and bass, using an Amiga 500 and a simple tracker program to create his early works.

Throughout his career, Muffler has released numerous tracks on esteemed labels such as Urban Takeover, Moving Shadow, Hospital Records, and his own SighCo Recordings. His debut 12-inch, Somber / Fury, released on Urban Takeover in 2000, marked the beginning of his influential presence in the drum and bass scene. Over the years, he has produced several albums, including Soundz of the Future (2003), Composer (2018), and LP02 (2020), each showcasing his evolving style and technical prowess.

In addition to his solo projects, Muffler has collaborated with various artists and contributed to numerous compilations, further solidifying his reputation within the drum and bass community. His work is characterised by a blend of liquid funk and breakbeat elements, appealing to a wide audience and earning him recognition both in Finland and internationally.
