OB1, real name Ben Green, is a veteran figure in the UK drum and bass scene, with a career spanning over three decades. Beginning his journey in 1994, he honed his skills on London pirate radio stations such as Don, Flex, and Flight FM. His deep involvement in the genre led to pivotal roles with influential labels including Metalheadz, Virus, Prototype, Valve, and Infrared, where he managed label operations, tours, and club nights. As a resident DJ at the legendary Metalheadz Sunday Sessions, OB1 also contributed as a producer, releasing music on Metalheadz and other notable labels like Bingo Beats, Skank & Bass, RAM Records, and Invaderz Recordings.

In 2019, OB1 founded Rebel Music, a London-based label dedicated to showcasing the full spectrum of drum and bass. Under his leadership, Rebel Music has become a hub for both emerging and established artists, featuring talents such as Creatures, Kolectiv, Taelimb, and Skuff. The label is known for its commitment to artist development, offering a platform for innovative sounds and fostering a community-driven approach to music production and performance.

OB1's own productions continue to push boundaries, exemplified by collaborations like the Checkpoint EP with Elsewhere, which blends soulful elements with futuristic drum and bass. His work consistently garners support from top-tier DJs and features on prominent compilations, including Andy C's Nightlife 2, Chase & Status's Bingo Sessions Vol.3, and DJ Friction's Big Bad Bass.

Beyond the studio, OB1 is active on the live circuit, performing at renowned venues such as XOYO and Phonox in London, and supporting acts like Calibre, LTJ Bukem, and Delta Heavy. His Rebel Music events, including the innovative Dub Wars competitions, have become staples in the drum and bass community, emphasizing inclusivity and the genre's rebellious spirit. OB1's enduring influence and dedication continue to shape the landscape of drum and bass music.
