Evolution Chamber Opens Myselor’s Cosmic Expression Rollout With Breaking Chains
Myselor begins the rollout for his 20-track album Cosmic Expression on Evolution Chamber with opening sampler Breaking Chains.
Evolution Chamber has never really approached albums as background content between singles. The label’s bigger projects tend to arrive with structure behind them, built to hold attention over time rather than survive a playlist skip.
That approach returns with Myselor and his forthcoming 20-track album Cosmic Expression, beginning on 22nd May 2026 with opening sampler Breaking Chains. Rather than dropping the LP in one hit, the project is unfolding across four separate samplers through the summer before the full release lands on 9th October 2026.
It suits the material. Even from the first glimpse, this feels less focused on immediate dancefloor payoff and more interested in pacing, atmosphere, and long-form movement between styles.
The title track, Breaking Chains, leans closest to the heavier neurofunk pressure Evolution Chamber is associated with. Tight rhythmic movement sits underneath tense atmospherics and controlled low-end weight, but the arrangement avoids becoming overly dense. The track stretches and releases rather than constantly pushing forward, giving the drums room to breathe.
Alongside it, Embrace The Infinite moves further outward. Ambient textures and slower melodic passages take up more space here, pulling away from straightforward club structure without losing momentum completely. The contrast between the two tracks matters because it frames the album's overall direction early on. Myselor is clearly not aiming for twenty tracks of uninterrupted neurofunk impact.
That broader scope has become increasingly rare in drum and bass, particularly within heavier corners of the scene where singles still dominate release schedules. Albums often end up functioning as collections of DJ tools rather than fully paced listening experiences. Labels like Evolution Chamber have been one of the few exceptions in recent years.
Billain’s Mirror remains the obvious reference point. Not because Cosmic Expression sounds identical, it does not, but because both projects treat structure and sequencing as part of the artistic identity rather than an afterthought. The transitions between moods, tempos, and textures appear central to how Myselor wants this material to function.
Originally from Greece and now based in Basel, Switzerland, Myselor has steadily developed his sound since launching the project in 2010. Releases including Evolution, Rebirth, Soul Power, and Intuition established a balance between technical drum programming and more cinematic arrangement choices, something this album rollout appears set to expand further.
The remaining samplers continue through June, July, and August before Cosmic Expression arrives in full on 9th October 2026. For now, Breaking Chains works as an introduction rather than a grand statement. Fair enough. Twenty tracks is a long stretch by modern drum and bass standards. Better to let it unfold properly.
