VTO Records continues the rollout of its A New Beginning 5 Year Anniversary project with the first album sampler, introducing four tracks that showcase the breadth of the label's modern neurofunk sound. Today, Drum & Bass UK is pleased to premiere Sindicate – Nazar, marking the German producer's debut appearance on the label.
Opening with delicate guitar melodies carrying an almost Eastern influence, Nazar takes its time establishing the atmosphere before deep bass drones begin to emerge beneath the surface. Tight drum programming gradually raises the tension until the drop lands with real intent, where distorted guitar-like chords and a crunchy, evolving bassline combine to create a powerful yet controlled groove.
Rather than relying on relentless aggression, Sindicate allows the arrangement room to breathe. The bass continually shifts around the drums, introducing subtle movement and variation while the metallic textures and cinematic undertones give the production a distinctive identity. It's a track that balances technical precision with musicality, making just as much impact through its restraint as it does its heavier moments.
Nazar also offers a fitting introduction to Sindicate's sound as he joins the VTO Records roster. Known for detailed sound design and cinematic production, his debut sits comfortably alongside the label's futuristic aesthetic while adding another dimension to the forthcoming anniversary albums.
As the first taste of A New Beginning, the sampler hints at an ambitious celebration of VTO Records' first five years. With contributions from TR Tactics, Stonx, Lee UHF and Sindicate, it reflects both the label's established artists and the new talent helping shape its next chapter.
