Last Days Of Disco Part 3 by Canis x Sirius

Three EPs into their run on Dirtbox Recordings, Canis X Sirius have settled into a sound that values groove over gimmicks. Last Days Of Disco Part 3 brings the trilogy to a close with three collaborations that each take a different approach, while remaining connected through clean arrangements, controlled low-end and an understanding of how these tracks are likely to be used in a set.

In The Jungle, featuring Chris Nichols, opens the release with confidence. Rolling breaks, warm sub pressure and a soulful vocal combine without any element overpowering another. The arrangement is patient, allowing the groove to establish itself before the vocal comes forward, giving the track a natural flow that works equally well on headphones or over a club system. Animal shifts the energy up without abandoning that same sense of control. MC Reeality's unmistakable delivery injects urgency into the track, while the production keeps everything tight underneath. The drums punch through clearly, the bass carries plenty of weight and the arrangement avoids unnecessary detours, making it an easy choice for peak-time dancefloor moments.

Bonnie & Clyde rounds things off alongside Twilight, bringing a more reflective mood to the EP. Her vocal sits comfortably within the mix, adding emotion without slowing the momentum. The production leaves enough space for the performance to breathe while maintaining the same rhythmic consistency heard throughout the release, making for a satisfying closer.

What makes Last Days Of Disco Part 3 work is its balance. Each collaboration brings something different, yet the EP never feels disjointed or overambitious. Canis X Sirius have shown increasing confidence across this trilogy, trusting strong songwriting, solid production and thoughtful arrangements rather than chasing constant impact. As a closing chapter, it ties the series together neatly while offering an encouraging glimpse of what the duo may have in store for their forthcoming debut album.
