DJ Kafra, born David Migliaccio, is a French DJ, producer, and label manager from Marseille. Active since the mid-1980s, he began his career in 1985 as a selecta (reggae DJ) for Massilia Sound System, contributing to the rise of the rub-a-dub style in southern France. His early involvement in the reggae scene laid the foundation for his seamless transition into jungle and drum and bass genres, showcasing his versatility and deep understanding of electronic music's evolving landscape.

Throughout his extensive career, DJ Kafra has been celebrated for his dynamic DJ sets and broad musical repertoire. In 1993, he toured with Les Nomads, a techno and jungle sound system, further expanding his musical horizons. By 1996, he founded the collective Selecta Crew, regularly performing alongside top international DJs.
