Darren White, known professionally as dBridge, is a prominent English drum and bass producer whose career commenced in the early 1990s. He initially gained recognition as part of the duo Future Forces Inc. alongside DJ Maldini, releasing tracks on the influential label Renegade Hardware. This collaboration laid the foundation for his future contributions to the genre.
In the late 1990s, dBridge co-founded the drum and bass supergroup Bad Company with DJ Fresh, Vegas, and Maldini. The group achieved significant acclaim with seminal tracks such as Planet Dust, Nitrous, and The Nine, which are considered classics within the drum and bass community. Their innovative approach during this period played a crucial role in shaping the sound of the genre.
Embarking on a solo career, dBridge released his debut album, The Gemini Principle, in 2008, showcasing his versatility as a producer. He also established his own label, Exit Records, which has been instrumental in promoting forward-thinking drum and bass music. Under Exit Records, he released compilations such as Mosaic Vol 1 in 2011 and Mosaic Vol 2 in 2013, further cementing his influence in the scene.
Beyond his solo work, dBridge has engaged in various collaborations, notably with Kid Drama on the Heart Drive project, which featured a series of podcasts previewing autonomic tracks. In 2015, he adopted the alias Velvit to explore techno and house music, demonstrating his adaptability across electronic genres. His extensive collaborations include work with artists such as Instra:mental, Fierce, Break, Survival, Calibre, and Skream, highlighting his respected status within the electronic music community.
