Filthy Habits is a UK-based drum and bass DJ and production duo from Birmingham and Wolverhampton, comprising Andy (Switchdoctor) and Steve (Illusion). Both began their DJing careers in 2008 and ventured into music production in late 2009. Their early dedication led them to win two DJ competitions in 2010, including one hosted by Class A Recordingz. This success secured them residencies at prominent events such as Raveology in 2011, where they performed at notable nights like One Nation vs Raveology NYE and Eksman's Overload.
In August 2011, Filthy Habits released their debut EP through Audio Espionage, achieving significant success with all five tracks entering the top 10 on the Nu-Urban Music charts. Tracks like Shotgun and Golden Claw notably secured the number 1 and 2 positions, respectively. This early achievement established them as rising talents within the drum and bass scene.
The duo has since released music on esteemed labels including DnB Allstars, Charge Recordings, Low Down Deep, Co-Lab Recordings, Sweet Tooth, and Natty Dub Recordings. Their productions are characterised by a distinctive jump-up style, contributing to the dynamic landscape of drum and bass music. In 2020, they announced their debut album, Kaleidoscope, on Low Down Deep Recordings, further showcasing their versatility and commitment to the genre.
