David Franks, known professionally as Frankee, is a British drum and bass producer and DJ hailing from London. Introduced to the genre at 13 by his older brother, he developed a passion for electronic music, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of styles including garage, jungle, hip hop, rock, and reggae. By 14, Frankee was honing his DJ skills on vinyl, laying the foundation for his future career.
Frankee's production journey gained momentum with his collaboration on Nevada for Basher's Transmission album. This achievement led to recognition within the Ram Records circle, culminating in his debut on their sister label, Program. In 2013, he signed exclusively with Ram Records, releasing tracks like Black Heart and Wonderland, which were featured in Andy C's Nightlife 6 mix. His innovative sound earned him the 'Best Newcomer Producer' award at the Drum and Bass Awards in 2014.
