The Caracal Project

The Caracal Project, the brainchild of French producer Félix Burnod, has quickly become a trailblazing force in modern drum and bass. Initially formed as a duo in 2017, the project became Burnod's solo endeavour in 2019, allowing him to fully explore his forward-thinking approach to electronic music. Blending influences from techno, house, and bass music, his sound defies conventional boundaries, pushing drum and bass into new, uncharted territories.

Inspired by the experimental ethos of Noisia’s Outer Edges, Burnod has released on respected labels such as DIVIDID, Blackout, and Nëu. His music is defined by intricate sound design, emotive melodies, and an ever-evolving approach that embraces multiple tempos and textures. A defining moment in his career came in 2020 when he contributed to Noisia’s Vision Recordings' 'Mission' series, marking a new chapter in his sonic evolution.

The Caracal Project has also championed an independent spirit, with the Modern Intimate project demonstrating his ability to craft dancefloor-driven beats while also incorporating more introspective elements. The release encapsulated his desire to connect with audiences on a deeper level, fusing high-energy production with moments of reflection and subtle melancholy.

Collaboration has been key to his growth, with standout partnerships including work with IMANU on tracks such as Neiges and La Fournaise, showcasing a shared commitment to innovation.
