Miss Medik is a UK-based DJ, producer and writer whose artistry bridges the worlds of classical music and Drum & Bass. A lifelong musician with formal training in flute, piano and music theory, she brings orchestral richness and emotional intelligence to every production. Her sound is rooted in liquid and cinematic Drum & Bass, infused with the melodic influence of 90s trance and film score composition.
Raised in a deeply musical family, Miss Medik grew up surrounded by instruments and performance. Her mother, a piano and singing teacher, introduced her to classical music and musicals, while her father’s love of rock and theatre added another layer of inspiration. She learned to DJ on vinyl in 2005, studied music at college, and later rediscovered her creative drive through sobriety and connection with the Drum & Bass community. Raving became a source of purpose and expression, leading her naturally into production.
That blend of discipline and emotion defines her approach. Miss Medik often begins her compositions with a piano chord sequence, building string, brass and woodwind sections around a melodic core. This orchestral sensibility gives her music a cinematic depth rarely found in the genre. Her DJ sets reflect the same balance, moving fluidly between liquid, dancefloor and neurofunk while maintaining a sense of musicality and storytelling.
Beyond her musicianship, Miss Medik is a passionate advocate for neurodivergent representation in electronic music. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, she writes openly about her experiences of navigating creativity, community and social energy as a neurodivergent artist. Her insight and honesty have resonated across the Drum & Bass scene, encouraging others to see difference as a source of strength rather than limitation. She speaks frequently about the importance of pacing, self-care and authenticity in creative work.
Miss Medik’s commitment to inclusion and creative freedom extends into every aspect of her career. She recently joined Inside DnB as a contributor, where her thoughtful perspective and interviews have introduced a new voice to the culture. She continues to build momentum as a DJ and producer, with her debut EP forthcoming on Interstellar Audio and future goals including collaborations with artists from Keeno Music. Her recent bookings include appearances for Full Spectrum at Cosies in Bristol, with festival dates on the horizon.
Living by her own philosophy of mobility and inspiration, Miss Medik is currently converting a van into a travelling studio to take her music on the road. She describes nature and movement as key catalysts for creativity, reflecting a deep connection between her environment and her art.
