Smooth: Drum and Bass Biography, Releases and Upcoming Events

Luka Per, known professionally as Smooth, is a Slovenian drum and bass producer and DJ celebrated for his dynamic and melodic contributions to the genre. His musical journey began at the age of 10 with piano lessons, later expanding to guitar and exploring genres like metal and hardcore. A pivotal moment occurred when he attended his first drum and bass event, igniting a passion that would define his career.

Smooth's entry into the drum and bass scene was marked by his track Under The Moon, featured on Viper Recordings' Acts of Mad Men album. This exposure led to his signing with Viper Recordings, where he released his debut single, 7th Sense / Squirm featuring KG, on the Viper VIP imprint. In addition to his solo work, Smooth is part of the duo Telekinesis and the trio City of Dogs, whose track Absolutely Flawless was highlighted in Pendulum's Radio 1 Essential Mix.

The year 2011 was a breakthrough period for Smooth, beginning with the release of Feel So Free on Viper VIP, followed by Calling and a notable remix of Matrix & Futurebound's Strength 2 Strength for the Worldwide 001 album. His versatility was further showcased with tracks like Want It and Alienated (as Telekinesis) on Viper's Summer Slammers 2011 compilation.

In January 2012, Smooth released the Blinded By The Light EP, featuring seven tracks that demonstrated his range as a producer. His remix portfolio expanded with official remixes for artists such as Camo & Krooked's Get Dirty featuring TC and Seven Lions' Below Us featuring Shaz Sparks. He also remixed Matrix & Futurebound's Magnetic Eyes featuring Baby Blue and Modestep's Another Day.

Continuing to build on his success, Smooth released Virgo Cluster, a track that exemplifies his signature anthemic dancefloor style. He remains a prominent figure in the drum and bass community, known for his energetic performances and innovative productions that resonate with audiences worldwide.
