Kevin Forrester, better known as Eksman, is one of the most influential MCs in the drum and bass scene. Born in Brockley, South London, in 1980, Eksman began his journey in 1996, honing his lyrical craft and performance style. His breakthrough came in 2003 when he won ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Knowledge Magazine Awards and Accelerated Culture Awards, propelling him into the spotlight.

In 2004, Eksman made history by winning the ‘Best Lyrical MC’ award, breaking an 11-year streak held by Skibadee. This accolade cemented his reputation as a dynamic and innovative force within the genre. Following this success, he collaborated with key producers, including DJ Zinc on Drive by Car, and released tracks like Bad Man and They Don’t Know, which became scene staples.
