Metalheadz

Metalheadz is a pioneering British drum and bass label founded in 1994 by Goldie alongside DJs Kemistry & Storm. Emerging from the fertile grounds of the UK rave scene, the label quickly established itself as a cornerstone of the genre, renowned for its commitment to innovation, technical excellence, and a fearless approach to sonic exploration.

The label's inaugural release, a split 12" featuring Doc Scott's VIP Drumz and Goldie's VIP Riders Ghost, set the tone for a series of groundbreaking records that would define the drum and bass soundscape. Metalheadz became synonymous with forward-thinking productions, releasing seminal works from artists such as Dillinja, Photek, Source Direct, and J Majik. These releases not only showcased the label's diverse musical palette but also its dedication to pushing the boundaries of the genre.

In 1995, Metalheadz launched the legendary Sunday Sessions at London's Blue Note club. These events became a crucible for the drum and bass community, fostering a culture of experimentation and collaboration. The sessions were instrumental in shaping the genre's direction, providing a platform for both established and emerging artists to test new material and refine their craft.
