Studio Survival- TeeBee

ANAMOD ATS-1 from ANAMOD I’m going to be very specific on this one. My Studio Survival Piece is the ANAMOD ATS-1 from ANAMOD. It is a hardware Tape emulator. This is the one thing I grab if I can only grab one! It just makes everything sound….better. It’s essentially a Tape Simulator, but with analogue circuitry and no tape! It has these slots for different classic tape machines emulation and I maxed it and got all the cards. It also has a hiss dial for added realism. The only thing it doesn’t have is the one thing I would not miss from the real units and that’s the wow and flutter that sometimes came with worn old tape machines. It elevates itself on Bass/Drums and Vocals. Makes Bass warm and thick, and loves to be overdriven a little. 15 IPS on a TUBE Tape emulation slightly overdriven with a medium hiss setting is instantly a vibe!  Hugs transients of kicks in that mid-range ooompf breakup that we all know and love from our fav hip hop records – also a staple from the Studer emulation. Just sounds so chesty and tight at the same time. It can sound hi-fi in the best way and low-fi with soul. It just can’t fail. I love this unit. My Survival Piece for sure. I have used this on every single record since I got it in 2013. TeeBee unveils his first solo release in over a decade-  The Cosmic Carnival LP. The album will see the relaunch of legendary label Subtitles Music. You can find the latest single The Way (Saviour) here.
