Ben Vibrant: Drum and Bass Biography, Releases and Upcoming Events

Ben Vibrant, a drum and bass producer from North London, has carved a niche in the electronic music scene with his soulful and jazz-infused compositions. Influenced by the free party culture and artists like BCee, DJ Marky, and Alix Perez, Ben's music embodies the vibrant and melodic aspects of drum and bass.

Beginning his journey as a DJ under the alias "Herschey," Ben performed at house parties and underground raves. His passion for music led him to pursue a degree in sound engineering, where he refined his production skills. After graduating, he adopted the moniker "Ben Vibrant" and, in 2019, joined DNBB Records, a label known for its soulful liquid drum and bass focus.

Ben's debut single, Riddles, featured a collaboration with a vocalist he met at a Madness gig in London. This track marked the start of his partnership with DNBB Records. His Be in L.A. EP, released during the COVID-19 pandemic, explores themes of aspiration and longing, influenced by personal experiences and the global lockdown. Collaborating with vocalist Ulkar, whom he met during the lockdown, the EP showcases Ben's ability to blend soulful melodies with engaging rhythms.

In December 2023, Ben released the Masterplan EP, a collaboration with Joe Chisanga. This project captures the essence of California's vibrant culture, merging Chisanga's captivating vocals with Ben's fluid, immersive foundations. The EP has been praised for its innovative sound and emotional depth.

Beyond his studio work, Ben's music has received airplay on stations like Bassdrive and Kool London, and has been featured on podcasts from DNBB and Liquid Flow. His dynamic DJ sets and engaging productions have earned him a loyal following, both in the UK and internationally. As he continues to evolve as an artist, Ben remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of drum and bass, with plans to incorporate more live instrumentation and heavier basslines in future projects.
