Dan Dakota, a British-born drum and bass producer and DJ, relocated to Calgary, Canada, at the age of 12. Immersing himself in the local music scene, he began crafting his unique sound, drawing inspiration from both British and European drum and bass influences.
In 2014, Dan emerged on the scene with releases on Liquicity Records and the Canadian label Supreme Hustle Recordings. His track Telecaster garnered significant attention, leading to support from prominent artists such as Fred V & Grafix, who featured his music on BBC Radio 1. This early exposure helped establish his reputation within the drum and bass community.
Following a brief hiatus to refine his artistic direction, Dan returned with notable releases including Stood In The Dark and We Let Em Go on Liquicity Records. His collaborations with labels such as UKF, Hospital Records, and Westwood Recordings further expanded his reach, with tracks like Glow featured on UKF's platforms. His music has received support from industry heavyweights including Netsky, Zeds Dead, and London Elektricity.
Despite his studio-focused nature, Dan has performed at various events, including opening sets for artists like Fred V & Grafix at Hospitality nights in Calgary. His dedication to production and selective live performances have solidified his status as a respected figure in the drum and bass scene, known for his melodic compositions and evolving soundscapes.
