Serum is a British drum and bass producer and DJ, known for his unique blend of vintage jungle and modern jump-up styles. Over the course of his career, Serum has become one of the most respected figures in the scene, with a reputation built on his ability to seamlessly blend old-school influences with fresh, forward-thinking production. Serum’s journey into the world of drum and bass began after being discovered by veteran producer Ray Keith. This led to an exclusive signing with the influential Dread imprint, where he spent the first years of his career releasing a series of singles and EPs. Notable early releases such as "Dub Dread", which became the title track for a series of mix albums, cemented his place in the drum and bass world. His remix of "Girls Dem Want It" further increased his profile in the scene.
Following his time with Dread, Serum’s reputation as a producer continued to grow, thanks to standout tracks like "Snake Fist" and "Papa Lover Remix", both of which saw significant chart success and frequent play on BBC Radio 1's drum and bass show. His remixes for artists such as Top Cat and Twisted Individual, as well as his releases on labels like Liquid V, Grid, Mac 2, and Critical, solidified Serum’s position as one of the genre’s most versatile producers. His work has earned regular support from major DJs, including Andy C, Friction, Fabio, Shy FX, Dillinja, Ray Keith, and Marky.
As his career progressed, Serum began to earn more DJ bookings, bringing his high-energy sets to venues across Europe. He has played at some of the UK’s most iconic clubs, including Ministry of Sound, Fabric, and the Q Club, where his rapid-fire selection of upfront tracks and classic remixes have kept audiences on their feet. Serum has also become a staple on several radio platforms, regularly appearing on stations such as 1Xtra, DNBTV, Kool FM, Pyro Radio, Bassdrive, Rude FM, and Drum & Bass Worldwide.
