Francesco Gaetano Moliterno, known professionally as Turno, is an English drum and bass musician from Bedford. Renowned for his hard-hitting tracks and energetic performances, Turno has also become a powerful advocate for mental health awareness following personal tragedy.
In September 2021, Turno's brother Fabio tragically passed away after a long battle with poor mental health. In response, Turno channeled his grief into raising awareness for men's mental health. On the one-year anniversary of his brother's death, he released the charity single What's On Your Mind, featuring SJ Loq, Myleedan, Phizi, and Too Lippy. The song was prominently featured in the BBC documentary series We Are England and was later remixed into a drum and bass version for World Mental Health Day in October 2022, with all profits donated to the mental health charity Mind.
Turno has been active in promoting mental health awareness outside of his music as well. In October 2022, he organised a mental health seminar with the record label DnB Allstars, and later that year, he partnered with Ultra Records to host a writers' camp where he recorded an impressive 22 tracks in one week.
Among his musical successes, Turno's single Rave Out, featuring Skepsis and Charlotte Plank, was released in June 2023 and reached No. 37 on the UK Singles Chart. The track, like much of his recent work, carries a message about mental health struggles and resilience. Additionally, his earlier single Killer charted at No. 94 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart.
Beyond his chart success, Turno remains a highly influential figure in drum and bass, using his platform not only to create impactful music but also to drive conversations around mental health, resilience, and self-care. His work continues to bridge the gap between music and meaningful social change.
