DJ Marnel is one of the pioneers of drum and bass in Brazil, having started his career in 1996. In 2000, he created the party The Bass, solidifying his presence in the national electronic scene. Throughout his career, he has performed at renowned events and clubs such as Skol Beats, Movement, Lov.e, Respect, and D-Edge.
As a producer, he has released tracks and remixes on several labels, including DNBB Records, Universal Music, and 4Jungle Records. In 2023, he curated the compilation Urban Bass Stories for DNBB Records. Currently, he is also a partner at the label 4Jungle Records.
Beyond DJing and music production, Marnel has been a teacher for over 15 years at DJ Ban-EMC, one of Brazil's leading DJ and music production schools.
He currently performs as an open format DJ, showcasing his versatility by playing various genres, including grooves, Brazilian music, 70s, 80s, 90s hits, rock, pop, and house. He has played at several São Paulo pubs, such as The Sailor Pub, JetLag Pub (2015/2016), and The Juniper 44 (2017–2019), as well as venues like Sky Hall, Cazzazul, and Casa das Caldeiras.
