Gravitape is a drum and bass project from Saint Petersburg, formed in 2021 and centred around a heavier blend of mainstream and neurofunk styles. Drawing from orchestral arrangement, melodic composition, and rock influences, the project combines live instrumentation and vocals with dense synthetic sound design and high-pressure low-end.
Rather than sticking rigidly to traditional neurofunk structure, Gravitape leans into more cinematic arrangement and layered musical detail. The production balances aggressive bass movement with wider melodic sections, often pulling live elements into the mix alongside sharper electronic textures.
Since emerging, the project has released material through labels including High Resistance, Neuropunk, Papperfunk, Gunsta, and VTO. Alongside studio output, Gravitape has also appeared across live broadcasts and performance line-ups, steadily building visibility within heavier corners of the drum and bass scene.
The project’s approach remains rooted in technical sound design and rhythmic pressure, while drawing influence from outside traditional drum and bass structures. That combination of orchestral detail, synthetic weight, and live instrumentation continues shaping Gravitape’s evolving sound.
