Intelligent Manners

Dmitriy Sabekiya, known professionally as Intelligent Manners, is a Russian drum and bass producer and DJ hailing from Saint Petersburg. His journey into the genre began in 1996, influenced by his older brother's collection of UK jungle tapes. By the early 2000s, Sabekiya was crafting his own tracks, blending soulful and jazzy elements that would become his signature style.

In 2007, his debut track, Praise The Lord, was featured on the Saint Petersburg Drum and Bass Compilation - Respect 6, released by DJ Gvozd's Respect Records. This was followed by the 2008 release of Do It Now! / I Lost You Baby on Liquid Brilliants Records, gaining airplay on UK stations like KOOL FM and BBC Radio 1Xtra. These early successes established Intelligent Manners as a rising talent in the international drum and bass scene.

Throughout his career, Sabekiya has collaborated with notable artists and labels, contributing to releases on Fokuz Recordings, Nexgen, and Celsius Records. His 2012 debut album, The Movement, released on Fokuz Recordings, showcased his versatility and deep connection to soulful drum and bass, receiving acclaim for its positive vibes and funky grooves.

Beyond production, Intelligent Manners has been active as a DJ, performing at various events and hosting the weekly live drum and bass show "Night Grooves" on Moscow's Megapolis 89.5 FM. His contributions have been supported by prominent figures in the scene, including LTJ Bukem, DJ Marky, and Bryan Gee, solidifying his influence within the genre.
