Formed in the mid-2000s, Klax’s members initially met through a shared passion for music and collaboration. Joel, who worked in a record shop in Brighton, met Ben through his job, and soon after, they introduced Benny into the group. This collaborative chemistry has played a crucial role in developing their signature sound, which combines intricate rhythms with intense basslines.
Klax’s breakthrough came in 2018 with the release of their Lucid EP, featuring tracks such as Become with Charli Brix. This release showcased their ability to blend emotional depth with energetic, dancefloor-ready drum and bass. Their collaboration with Hyroglifics on Boogieboard further demonstrated their versatility, with the track’s experimental approach resonating with both fans and industry insiders.
