Krinjah, a prominent figure in the Canadian jungle and drum and bass scene, hails from a small town near Toronto. He frequently traveled to the city to immerse himself in its vibrant music culture, attending parties and collecting records. This early exposure played a crucial role in shaping his musical journey.
Relocating to Montreal after high school, Krinjah co-hosted a weekly jungle and drum and bass night at the Blue Dog Nightclub alongside DJ Stabba. During this period, he dedicated himself to music production, creating reggae and jungle mashups on a modest setup. With guidance from mentor DJ Jacky Murda, who owned a vinyl lathe, Krinjah released bootleg white labels that gained traction in the DJ community.
These releases led to international recognition, earning him invitations to perform across the United States and Europe, including destinations as far-reaching as Siberia. His energetic amen break-infused tracks, such as his renowned remixes of Burial, Angel, and Bam Bam, became staples in the ragga jungle revival movement.
After a stint in New York City aiming to produce for pop and rap artists, Krinjah returned to his hometown to pursue higher education. Balancing academic endeavors with his passion for music, he continued to produce tracks and expressed a desire to collaborate within the jungle and drum and bass community. His contributions have left an indelible mark on the genre, inspiring both audiences and fellow producers worldwide.
