Ilkka Kurkela, better known as Mineral, is a Finnish drum and bass producer and DJ whose sound is rooted in deep atmospheres, intricate breakbeats and classic jungle influences. Producing since 1996 and DJing since 2001, Mineral first made his mark in the early 2000s with a string of atmospheric releases, before stepping away from the scene for much of the 2010s.

Since making a powerful return in 2021, he has released on respected imprints including Omni Music, Straight Up Breakbeat and Next Phase Records. His tracks are known for their emotional depth and rolling complexity, earning support from heavyweight selectors like Bailey, Doc Scott and DJ Flight.

Now with his Metalheadz debut, Mineral brings decades of experience and a sharpened sonic vision that blends classic energy with modern precision. He remains a key voice in the evolving landscape of atmospheric and jungle-inspired drum and bass.
