The Fi5th: Drum and Bass Biography, Releases and Upcoming Events

Phil, known professionally as The FI5TH, is a British drum and bass DJ and producer from Norwich, UK. Immersed in the genre since his teenage years, he began DJing at 16, honing his skills on his brother's Citronic MK2 decks and developing a passion for neurofunk and techstep styles. His early experiences included performing at illegal raves with the Treehouse Sound System across the UK and at French teknivals.

In 2021, The FI5TH released his debut track, Wolfman, on Close 2 Death Recordings, marking his entry into the professional music scene. He has since produced tracks such as Epos and Momentum, released on Cause4Concern Recordings, and Osmium, featured on Dialect Audio's Neurofunk Selections I compilation. His music is characterised by dark atmospheres, intricate basslines, and meticulous sound design.

Collaborating with artists like Transforma, The FI5TH co-produced the Shadow Law EP, released on Kosen Production, showcasing his ability to blend styles within the neurofunk subgenre. His work has been featured on labels including Dirtbox Recordings and Skamele Recordings, reflecting his growing influence in the drum and bass community.

As a DJ, The FI5TH has performed at various underground events, bringing high-energy sets that resonate with audiences. Balancing his music career with his profession as a plasterer, he continues to innovate within the drum and bass scene, contributing to its evolution with each release.
