Disphonia

Disphonia, a Greek drum and bass production and DJ duo from Athens, comprises Kostas Nomikos and George Roubinis. Formed in 2006, they share a passion for tech-influenced sounds, raw basslines, and deep soundscapes, establishing themselves as a formidable presence in the drum and bass scene.

Their debut track, November, featured on Mindtech Recordings' No Future LP in 2011, garnered significant attention. This was followed by 1987 Demons / Time Machine, a collaboration with French duo Kantyze, released on Trust In Music. The 12" vinyl single reached number one in sales within its first week on Juno Records. In 2012, they released Collapsed on M-atome, which became the label's best-selling release on Beatport, further solidifying their reputation.

Disphonia's collaborative efforts include working with artists such as Optiv, Gridlok, Black Sun Empire, Noisia, and Calyx & Teebee. Their track Headfirst was featured on State of Mind's SOM Music imprint, showcasing their ability to blend intricate production with dancefloor appeal. Additionally, their remix of Inward, Hanzo & Randie's Dirt on Cause4Concern Recordings exemplifies their versatility and influence within the genre.

As part of the Funxion Crew, a local event-promoting and DJ collective, Disphonia played a key role in introducing established drum and bass acts to the Athens scene. Their dynamic DJ sets and live performances have earned them spots alongside prominent artists, contributing to their growing international presence. With releases on labels such as Eatbrain, Red Light Recordings, and MethLab, Disphonia continues to push the boundaries of drum and bass, captivating audiences worldwide.
