Wagner Ribeiro de Souza, better known as DJ Patife, is a cornerstone of Brazil's drum and bass scene, celebrated for blending the genre's signature rhythms with rich Brazilian musical influences. Born on 15 September 1976 in São Paulo, Patife's journey into music began in the mid-1990s, heavily inspired by the rising drum and bass movement and his collaborations with fellow Brazilian icon DJ Marky.

Patife's breakthrough moment came in 1997 when he joined Roni Size for the Mercury Prize ceremony, a pivotal event that placed him on the global stage. By 2000, his debut album Sounds of Drum'n'Bass earned critical acclaim, with tracks showcasing his ability to fuse soulful melodies with intricate breakbeats. That same year, he performed to a crowd of 5,000 alongside DJ Marky and Drumagick in São Paulo, a defining moment for Brazil's drum and bass culture.

One of Patife's standout remixes, Max de Castro's Pra Você Lembrar, became a dancefloor anthem in London, solidifying his reputation among international audiences.
