Quadrant & Iris: Drum and Bass Biography, Releases and Upcoming Events

Quadrant & Iris, the Seattle-based drum and bass duo comprising Leigh and Karen Caplan, have been pivotal figures in the North American drum and bass scene for over two decades. Leigh, known professionally as Quadrant, began his musical journey in the early 2000s, releasing tracks on esteemed labels such as Renegade Hardware, Citrus, and Fokuz. Karen, performing under the moniker Iris, honed her DJing skills across various genres, including drum and bass, UK hard house, techno, trance, and progressive. Their paths converged in 2012, leading to their first collaborative track, Anthropocene, which was featured on the Metalheadz Genesis EP Volume 4.

Following their initial collaboration, Quadrant & Iris released tracks on prominent labels such as Commercial Suicide, C.I.A., Dispatch, and Hospital Records. Their music has garnered support from influential figures in the drum and bass community, including Goldie, Total Science, Klute, A-Sides, Silent Witness, Survival, Ulterior Motive, and State of Mind.

In December 2021, the duo released the Double Path EP on C.I.A. Records, featuring tracks like Accurate, Double Path, Ambergris, and a collaboration with Dummy titled Sonder.
