The Qemists are a British drum and bass and electronic rock group from Brighton, originally formed by Dan Arnold, Leon Harris, and Liam Black. Emerging from a background in rock music, they transitioned into drum and bass production, blending heavy guitar riffs with breakbeats and high-energy electronic elements.
Their debut album Join the Q (2009) featured tracks like Stompbox and Dem Na Like Me, gaining recognition for their genre-blurring style. Their follow-up, Spirit in the System (2010), expanded on their signature fusion of drum and bass, rock, and dancehall influences.
The group’s music has appeared in soundtracks for films such as Jumper and Blitz, and they have shared stages with Enter Shikari and performed at festivals worldwide. Known for their explosive live performances, The Qemists have successfully bridged the gap between rock's raw energy and drum and bass's frenetic pace.
With their boundary-pushing style and relentless touring schedule, The Qemists continue to stand as pioneers of hybrid drum and bass music.
